Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam was the former President of India .He was nick named as `Missile man’. He wrote several books, including the autobiography Wings Of Fire. On the occasion of his 84th Birth Anniversary 15thOctober’15 was observed as’ No School Bags Day’. As a remembrance of his passion for teaching and education, reading was encouraged and promoted to ignite the young minds with the power to think and innovate. Children were shown the clippings of Dr.Kalam and his achievements. Books were read to them and they too enjoyed reading and going through colorful pictures.

Blue Day celebration by Nursery section - 15th to 17th July, 2015

Blue day was celebrated by all the children with great enthusiasm. All the nursery students and teachers were dressed in blue. To make learning happen through playful method, kids played two different games relating to the colour blue

  • Two blue circular cut outs were placed on the floor where kids’ could hop from one cut-out to another.
  • Sorting out the various objects from the magic box by reasoning and identifying the blue colour in co-operative groups.

Different collaborative activities pertaining to blue colour were done by all and same were displayed in the school premises. As a take away activity, blue clay and blue balloon were given to all kids.

Sharing Week Celebration by Jr. KG - 6th to 10th July, 2015

Sharing is a basic component of human interaction and is responsible for strengthening social ties and ensuring a person's well being. It’s a vital life skill which children need to learn. children celebrated Sharing Week from 6th July to 10th July 2015. They shared their pencils, eraser, books and snacks with each other. On 10th July the children wore coloured clothes and played games by sharing their toys.

Overall Sharing Week was a wonderful way for children to have fun and sharing.

Pre-primary observed Yoga week from 29/6/15 to 3/7/15 kids from Nr, Jr.Kg.and Sr.Kg did yoga exercises for that week in their P.E.period

Yoga means the experience of oneness or unity with inner being. Yoga is a science by which the individual approaches truth. The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the roots of Sanskrit word ‘Yuj’ which means to join, to attach and to concentrate one’s attention on. Yoga is the true union of our will with the will of God.

Yoga played an important role in the field of sports. Yogic physical exercises keep the body fit, healthy and free from diseases.

How Yoga helps kids 1) Activates calming hormones, such as serotonin. 2) Focus on breath and movement to give children self-regulation tools. 3) Uses bilateral movement to balance brain hemispheres and affect mood. 4) Helps to organize and relax the nervous system. 5) Builds self-confidence and self affirmation.

Field Trip to Bhaktivedanta Hospital, Mira Road

Students: Grade X Batch - IGCSE

The students of grade X - IGCSE were given an opportunity to visit Bhaktivedanta Hospital, Mira Road as part of Field Trip to render them with practical knowledge and information related to their study chapter.

The Biology teacher took the students to hospital to make them witness the actual procedure on Dialysis as students have chapter on human excretory system and Dialysis Process. Nurses also educated them on how to keep the kidneys healthy to avoid health issues of such nature.

English Group Singing Competition - Nursery.

"Singing" is the act of producing musical sounds with voice and rhythm. Children enjoy singing along and it can really improve motivation. Singing can also improve pronunciation and intonation pattern of the student especially in younger children.

Group Singing Competition was held on 8th January 2015 where in the selected five children sang in group and those children who sang with confidence and rhythm were awarded with the certificate of appreciation.

RBK School Makes a National Judo Champion

Shaina won Gold Medal at the National School Games Judo Tournament 2014-15 held at Thyagraj Sports Complex, INA Colony, New Delhi from 1st January to 8th January 2015.There were over 1000 participant Judoka Boys and Girls in the different age groups and weight groups.

Shaina defeated Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu in the Elimination rounds and they overpowered N.V.S. in the quarter final. Her major victory was with Delhi with an Ippon Score upseting the Home crowd. Her final opponent was a Gigantic Haryana Girl whom Shaina defeated with 2 Yuko Scores.

Shaina who is 10 years old was the youngest player in this weight catagory.
