The Curse

There is wonderful planet far beyond of our imaginations. It is the land of magic, spells, power, amazing beasts, witches, wizards and more exhilarating and thrilling things. The name of this great, wonderful, marvelous, amazing and astonishing planet is Cinderlea. It is more than 50,000 million light year from our blue Earth.

This story starts at Snowice city situated in the deep woods. Snowice was famous in that planet because of the witches and wizards that lived there. It was a sublime city. It was a place where everybody was happy, cheerful and joyous. The people were always merry and not a single strike of fear could make them sad and unhappy.

But after many ages an Evil Queen came there and cursed the city. The name of the Evil Queen was Queen Selven. She was the master of dark magic. She was the queen of dark, fear, sadness and anger. She flicked her wand in the air and said ‘Snowice turn, from good to bad, bad to worse, worse to worst, I have casted a curse’.

After she said these words it begun to rain heavily accomplished by lightning and thundershower. In right front of the eyes the whole land was destroyed. The people became down in the dumps because of the black-hearted witch. They fled to save themselves from this wicked witch queen. Now, this beautiful and merry land was wiped out with sadness and gloominess and was in hands of this, wicked witch, Queen Selven. The cursed Snowice was forbidden forever. It was believed that Queen Selven was still living alive there, in the dark. Everybody made sure that they would never enterSnowiceever again. No one ever dared to entry there.

But a young girl named Elisha put on a brave face and entered Snowice city. She was bright, stunning, attractive, slim, imposing with broad shouldered, blue-eyed, rosy pink chubby cheeks. Her father, Mr.Ethan had a lucrative job of an eminent teacher. This bold, daring, courageous, fearless and spirited girl was from a huge dazzling city named Brightway city. She was pensive and often spend her time thinking about how could a wonderful, fabulous, incredible and glorious city be so horrid. She wanted to be a great wizard. She was called as ‘exploring worm’ because she always wanted to be an explorer. This hero was full of energy and enthusiasm to make Snowice a better place. But fighting with Queen Selven, the master of dark magic, was not a pie in the sky.

Elisha left her school and home and made her mind to go to Snowice. She packed her knapsack with a wand, magic potions, her favorite foods and chocolates and headed towards Snowice without telling or asking anybody. She knew that to reachSnowice she had to pass the deep sea, cloudy air, and dense forest. But she did not know that in each of these places there would be one legendary beast that would test her by asking her for help. If she passes all the tests then the legendary beasts would help her when she needed.

Elisha flew miles and miles on her broomstick. She would take a break whenever she wanted to rest, drink and eat and many more things. Whenever she needed anything with just a flick of her wand it would appear.

Then after hours she landed up near the sea. The sea looked amazing, smashing, shining and ravishing. The name of this lovely sea was Cliffcoast Sea because of the steep coast formed due to weathering of rocks. She cast a spell and suddenly a boat appeared in front of her. She sat on the boat and marched towards the Cliffcoast Sea. She could not fly because of the black charged clouds that could anytime light with thunderstorm. The sea was clam, peaceful, tranquil, restful and undisturbed. Suddenly, she saw a shadow of a large mass moving beneath the boat. It was a Praywin. It was royal blue in colour with scales on its body and was about five meter long. Elisha was astounded, astonished and spellbound to see a legendary beast.

The beasts politely asked Elisha where she was going. She replied that she was going to Snowice city. Praywin asked her whether she knew the direction of that city. She thought and thought but was unable to answer. Then the wise Praywin asked for a deal with Elisha that is if she answers the riddle asked by Praywin then he would tell her the direction. Elisha agreed to this challenging deal immediately. Praywin gave her a bunch of envelopes containing letters inside and told her ‘no one read the heart’. Elisha was baffled by the sentence spoken by Praywin. He also told her that ‘the first letter is the part of the answer’.

Praywin wanted to test Elisha’s intelligence. Elisha read all the letters in envelope. All the letters say ‘no one read the heart and the first letter is the part of the answer’. She was confused and puzzled. She thought the letters, grammar was incorrect. Then suddenly a superb and brilliant idea popped into her mind, she was always thought of the envelope’s letter but the answer was in the ‘no one read the heart’. First letter of ‘no’ is ‘N’, first letter of ‘one’ is ‘O’, first letter of ‘read’ is ‘R’, first letter of ‘the’ is ‘T’ and first letter of ‘heart’ is ‘H’. And when she joined all the letters the answer was ‘NORTH’.

She quickly told him the answer. Praywin was amazed by Elisha’s intelligence and cleverness. He told her that her answer was absolutely right. He was pleased to offer a ride to the wise young girl and told her that whenever she needed help he would appear. Elisha sat on the back of Praywin and swam across the sea. Then they arrived at Wolfston. She said good-bye to Praywin.

From Wolfston she had to fly in blue sky instead of walking because of the muddy land. Elisha started to fly on without knowing about another test from Astirelian. Astirelian was a legendary beast that could fly high in the sky with an incredible speed. While Elisha was flying on her broomstick, Astirelian out of the blue appeared. Astirelian looked blue. Elisha stopped and asked Astirelianif he needed any. Astirelian replied ‘yes’ to the young girl. He told her that a great, enormous, huge tornado was destroying the muddy land and it could only be stopped if someone would touch the shining crystal that was present in the eye of it.

Elisha was filled with astonishment on hearing the Astirelian’s words. She asked the beast to stop the disaster. But he replied that it would only work if a person touched the crystal and not the beast. Elisha was ready for the breathtaking task. Astirelian wanted to test her courage, bravery, daringness and audacity. She, in full seed flew towards the tornado. It was a really difficult task. But she had courage and flew till the eye of tornado. The eye of tornado was calm than the outer violently rotating winds. The moment she touched the crystal, the tornado disappeared.

Astirelian was wonderstruck by her courage and heroism. He was pleased to help her to fly across. She sat on him and flew. He told her that whenever she needed help he would appear. Then they ended up at Bushford mountain ranges. She said good-bye to Astirelian. She marched forward to reach Snowice city though the dense forest of Bushford mountain.

While she was walking, she got a big wound from a sharp bush. She knew how to heal the wound. She had read in her book that by applying a flower from the Healwound Tree the wound would get healed but after picking one flower from it, the whole tree would disappear. Healwound Trees are found at Bushford mountain, where she exactly was. She searched for theHealwound Tree and picked one flower of it.Suddenly the whole tree disappeared. Fortunately, she had the broken flower in her hand, but her eyes fells on the Elelidan. It was legendary beast. Elisha stepped few steps forward. She saw that the Elelidan too had a wound on his leg. The Elelidan requested her to give the flower.

Actually, he wanted to test her kindness, generosity, gentleness and her caring. Elisha was golden – hearted so she gave the flower to Elelidan. Elelidan was impressed by her humanity, tenderness, helpfulness and kindness. He had never seen such a warm – hearted girl. He offered the young girl a ride through the forest at the Bushford Mountain. He told her that whenever she needed help he would appear.

At last she made it to the Snowice city. She said good-bye to Elelidan. The young girl was one and the only step away from the victory. And the ‘one step’ was to defeat Queen Selven. Queen Selven’s beastsElardop, Chiliswen and Ethiash sensed Elisha and started attacking her. They ambushed on her. They charged and pounced on her. Queen Selven flipped her wand in the air and whispered a spell. This spell made Elisha fly high in the sky and dropped her from there, with a heavy thud.

Elisha tried some spell but was unsuccessful. Elisha was nothing in front of Queen Selven. She was almost going to lose, when suddenly the three great, amazing, fantastic and legendary beasts came there to help her. Praywin, Astirelian and Elelidan had fulfilled their promise by helping the young girl. They used their special powers and in soon all three - Elardop, Chiliswen and Ethiash were weak at their knees. In meantime, Elisha spoke the most powerful spell. The spell was so powerful that Queen Selvendisappeared and went to hell. But Snowice was still cursed. Elisha used her wit. She recited the curse in reversed way ‘Snowice turn, from worst to worse, worse to bad, and bad to good, I have removed the curse’.

By this spell the curse was removed and Snowice was free again. Finally, Elisha’s dream of making Snowice a better place was fulfilled by her. After few years, Snowice had turned again gorgeous, grand, fabulous, marvelous, magnificent, smashing and exquisite.

And Elisha was popular as scholar, hero, stunning, intelligent, smart, kind, caring, daring and brave. This was the happy ending for all.

SARVAMANGALA

Once there was a girl called Sarvamangala. She was as beautiful as mother Durga. Her father Devicharan was a poor man. People often called him to read about mother Durga from a book called “Chandi”. People would bless him and his family. They would give gifts of food and clothing to them. Therefore he and his family had enough to eat and wear.

One day his wife told that it is time to get Sarvamangala married.

Devicharansaid “Who will marry such a poor girl? We have nothing to give her.” His wife told him, “She is very beautiful and anyone will wish to marry her.”

One day a wealthy man came to Devicharan and said “I want my son to marry Sarvamangala.” He was very happy. Soon they were married and she went to a big house.

Devicharan and his wife were happy but sad also. They were happy because their daughter would live in a big house and sad because she would no more live with them. As Durga puja drew near Devicharan said to his wife “We must take a photo frame of mother Durga and offer her special offerings.”

His wife said “We don’t have a thing to eat, what will offer to mother?” Devicharan said “Does mother only belong to the rich and not the poor? Will she not accept our humble offerings?”

Before Durga puja his wife became ill, she couldn’t even get up from the bed. Devicharan cried “Are you testing me, mother?”

He went to Sarvamangala’s husband’s house and asked her father in law if he would let her come with him? But father in law said that she could not go with him because her mother in law couldn’t adjust without Sarvamangala.

He went home with a sad face. On his way he heard someone calling him “father.” He realised it was the voice of Sarvamangala. She said, “Take me home with you.”

Devicharan turned and saw her and said, “Your mother in law couldn’t adjust without you, so how you came?” She said do not worry, I have set all, just take me home with you.

Her mother was very happy to see her and she looked even beautiful like mother Durga and bright with joy. The next day she helped her father dress up the photo of mother Durga. The photo looked so beautiful. They did not have any special thing to dress up the photo. Her mother and father were so astonished. Her cooking was so good and she was intelligent and kind. Three days passed happily, on the fourth day, the guest had to be fed.

Sarvamangala came to Devicharan and said “I shall call the neighbours because they should be fed today.” Devicaharan said with sad face “We don’t have enough to eat, what we will feed the neighbours? When they come to know that we have nothing to offer, what they will think?”

Sarvamangala said that she would take care of that. In the afternoon the neighbours began to arrive, Devicharan was afraid to face the neighbours, so he sat in front of mother Durga and began to pray.

Sarvamangala said to neighbours “My father is poor so he cannot give big feast, there are some fruit offerings, you can eat that.” Neighbours began to eat and when they finished eating, they said that it was very tasty.

They gave gifts to Sarvamangala and her family. It was last day of the Puja, Devicharanrequested his wife to make a special dish of rice, curd and fruits. He did not realise that Sarvamangalahad crept into the room. When he opened his eyes, Sarvamangala was eating the offerings. Then he told his wife to make another dish of fruits. He again sat down for praying.

Sarvamangala again crept into the room and started eating the offerings. Devicharan got angry and shouted at Sarvamangala and told her to go to her mother. She went to her mother and said “Father has told me to come to you and she continued I will have to go today as puja is over.”

Her mother said “When your father finishes the prayer he will take you.” When Devicharan finished the prayer he asked his wife that where Sarvamangala was. His wife told him that she had left for her house without him.

Her father went to see her and when he saw her, he felt relieved. He said “I scolded you is that why you came without me.” “What are you taking about father? Sarvamangala asked in doubt.

“Didn’t I scold you when you ate the offerings?” Devichran said.

“I was here all the time, my father in laws said that I could not go with you.” Sarvamangala said.

When Devicaharan was on his way home he understood and said to mother Durga that “You came to me in the form of my daughter and I didn’t come to know.” Devicahran walked home and told his wife the full story, his wife was also so astonished. They praised and they were very thankful to mother and lived happily ever after.
