PTA Programs in School
January 11, 2017
A parent-teacher association (PTA) is a formal group composed of teachers, parents, and staff that is proposed to facilitate parental participation in a school. The prime purpose of this PTA is to provide a structure through which the parents/guardians of children can work collectively for the best possible education and wellbeing of their children.
How Is PTA Organized?
Most PTAs hold their annual general meetings at the beginning of the school year. During this meeting, a committee is selected to run the entire PTA body. These PTA committee members then try and meet up once in a term to organize various activities in the academic year.
Some simple PTA activities do not cost anything except for volunteer hours. For example, providing volunteers to help the office staffs check in late students, helping pupils check out library books, delivering lost lunchboxes during the school time etc.
Today, hundreds of schools in Mumbai have local PTA units adapted to the unique needs of each school, where every unit is run by unpaid volunteers. The best of the best schools in Mumbai are finding PTA programs very beneficial and are taking efforts to improvise the programs in a more functional way. Now let’s find out a few PTA advantages:
